I love fish (especially goldfish), vampires, ice hockey, reading (especially literary fiction and horror), music, makeup, writing (especially poetry), and spending time outdoors. I have a bachelor's degree in cultural anthropology that I'm currently not using for anything. Some of my favorite hobbies & activities are skating, going to concerts, thrifting, playing TTRPGs, drawing, crocheting, driving my car, listening to music, writing, doing crossword puzzles, and making zines. I recently got into painting miniatures and have painted some Warhammer 40k Death Guard minis so far. I also have a fish tank and am super duper into the aquarium hobby.

I would consider myself a laid back person in the sense that I don't get too stressed out or worked up about very many things. But I also tend to be quite a serious person who takes things at face value. I'm an INFJ, an Enneagram 9, and an Aquarius sun, Taurus moon, Aries rising if those mean anything to you. I'm a cat person but I have grown slightly more fond of dogs in recent years- still wouldn't consider myself a fan of dogs in general, though. My number one passion in life is music- I love playing music, listening to music, talking to people about music, writing about music, analyzing lyrics... honestly, I wish I had the skills or dedication to do music for a job, but then again, I honestly prefer for my passion to be a hobby. I genuinely appreciate all genres of music, but I have a very special love for pop music and most of my favorite albums of all time are pop albums. I also really love rock and some hardcore music, folk, country, and more experimental music as well. Generally, I'm a lyrics-focused listener, so any song with really good lyrics, regardless of genre, is probably something I enjoy. And I love the guitar, so again, any song with good guitar will have my heart, regardless of genre. My mom was new wave/goth in the 80s and my dad's special interest was the Beatles, so I grew up listening to a lot of goth music and classic rock n' roll. And my dad was from rural Arkansas, so classic country was always playing in my house. Eventually I want this website to host a lot of shrines to my favorite artists and albums- that's all a work in progress right now.

Here's some random Julie lore for you for sticking around: I am not a picky eater and will try just about anything, but I hate alfredo sauce and, embarrassingly, pretty much any and all seafood. My first job was working as an event security guard, and the first gig I ever worked was Cirque du Soleil. My favorite job i've ever had is being a summer camp counselor. I have been playing the piano since 2007. I have debilitating trypanophobia (phobia of needles). I already told you that my degree is in anthropology, but I also have a minor in history, with a specific focus on the history of medicine. My top listened to album for three straight years of my life was Melodrama by Lorde. in 2014, i was in the Johnlock trenches on Tumblr and I do unfortunately think it shaped me fundamentally as a person. I think sandwiches are the greatest food ever invented and I eat one just about every single day. I could genuinely eat a sandwich for every meal of my life and be happy.
