all about boyd4ughter!

julie. any pronouns. 2002. posting from virginia, usa.

hello! my name is julie. i love fish, vampires, watching ice hockey (i don't really have any specific teams that i root for, i just love the sport itself), reading fantasy books, listening to music way too loud, doing fun makeup looks, spending time outdoors, and writing. i have a degree in cultural anthropology that i'm currently not really using for anything. some of my hobbies and favorite activities are thrifting, ttrpgs, listening to music, going on aimless drives around my city, concerts, skating, leftist politics, crossword puzzles, and making zines. i've recently started getting a little bit into video games- i used to play them a lot as a kid but fell off in my teenage years, although i've always loved the lego games, especially lego star wars and lego indiana jones. i've been a huge fan of stardew valley for the past several years and very recently got into first- and third-person shooter games, specifically halo and space marine 2 (but don't ask me to explain anything about warhammer 40k lore i'm being so serious). i have a pet goldfish that i love above anything else and am super into the aquarium hobby. being bored is my least favorite thing in the entire world and i constantly take up new hobbies and seek out new experiences to avoid boredom at any cost.

i'm super introverted and tend to get exhausted from too much socialization. i also tend to get very focused on tasks i want to complete and will generally get sucked into working on a task or a project until completion. despite that, i'd ultimately consider myself a pretty lazy person and someone who goes through life at a slow pace. i don't really get super worked up or stressed out about very many things, but i do tend to be quite a serious person who takes things at face value. i'd say one of my most defining characteristics is my sincerity. i sincerely love all of the things and people i choose to spend my time with, and i don't really have patience for things and people that bury their sincerity under layers of irony or fakeness. that was kind of the thing that made me decide to be done with social media, honestly. i can't stand engagement bait or soulless content that's just churned out as fast as possible to make money. that standard does NOT apply to reality tv, though. i'm a total hypocrite that loves dramatic reality tv slop and i'm not ashamed to say it.

if you made it this far, thank you so much for taking some time out of your day to visit my website and get to know me a little bit! here's some random julie lore for you for sticking around: i am not a picky eater and will try just about anything, but i hate alfredo sauce and, embarrassingly, any and all seafood. my first job was working as an event security guard and the first gig i ever worked was security for a performance of cirque du soleil. the most consistent job i've ever had is being a summer camp counselor. i have been playing the piano since 2007. i have a debilitating phobia of needles. i already told you that my degree is in anthropology, but i also have a minor in history, with a specific focus on the history of medicine. my top listened to album for three straight years of my life was melodrama by lorde. in 2014, i was in the johnlock trenches on tumblr and i do unfortunately think it shaped me fundamentally as a person. i think sandwiches are the greatest food ever invented and i eat one just about every single day, and i could genuinely eat a sandwich for every meal of my life and be happy.

okay, that's everything i can think of about me. i feel very close to you now. i love you.
get to know me!

my blinkie hoard (organized by interest)

i made this website primarily as a place to share my poetry, but it has grown into a digital journal for me to collect my interests and share the things that excite me. it's become my main form of "social media" since i honestly have had unhealthy relationships with other social media platforms in the past and would rather spend my time online doing things that are more creative and controlled less by the whims of evil billionaires. when i discovered the movement of people rejecting social media and moving to the indie web, creating their own websites, i fell in love. to me, looking through people's websites is like reading their zines- self expression in such an uninhibited form.
